What we collect
The site has no sign-up, contact form or comments. We process the aggregate traffic measurement described below, the technical request data your browser sends to our web server and which appears in standard server logs, and information you choose to send through the optional documentation chat.
Our web server keeps standard request logs (IP address, time, requested page, referrer and browser details) for up to 52 days, to keep the sites secure and diagnose faults, and then deletes them. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running the sites securely.
Analytics
We use Umami to count page views and see which pages people read. Umami does not set cookies and does not build a profile of you across sites. It derives a daily, non-reversible identifier from your IP address and browser details so it can tell one visit from another; the raw IP address is not stored.
The analytics script is only loaded after you accept the analytics category in the cookie banner. If you reject it, or ignore the banner, the script is never loaded and no measurement takes place. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Documentation chat
On docs.form0.dev, we load a chat widget from Context7, an Upstash service. Loading it sends Context7 the technical request data normally supplied by your browser, such as your IP address, browser headers and referrer information. If you submit a question, Context7 also receives your question, earlier messages in that chat and the form0 documentation library identifier so it can retrieve relevant documentation and generate an answer. Do not include personal, confidential or secret information.
The chat is optional and form0 does not use it for analytics or advertising. Our purpose and legitimate interest are to provide documentation support. Context7 handles the submitted content to provide the response.
Playground
The playground at playground.form0.dev is not publicly available yet. This section describes how it will handle data once it is.
Before a session starts, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that the request comes from a person rather than a bot. For that check, Cloudflare receives your IP address and technical signals from your browser.
Each session runs in a disposable virtual machine provided by CodeSandbox B.V. (Netherlands), which acts as our processor under its data processing agreement. Your browser connects to it directly, so CodeSandbox receives your IP address and everything you type, edit or run in the session. The machine and its files are deleted when the session ends, after 20 minutes at most. The shell is unrestricted: never paste secrets, personal data or private code.
Our session service does not store your IP address. To enforce usage limits it keeps a keyed hash of it, which changes every day, together with session timestamps, and deletes these records after about a month at most. A session cookie keeps you connected to your own session.
The playground is optional. Our purpose and legitimate interest are to provide the session you choose to start and to protect a free service that runs real virtual machines from abuse.
Cookies and local storage
The site stores the following on your device. None of it is used for advertising and none of it is shared:
| Name | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| cc_form0_marketing_consent | Remembers your cookie banner choice so you are not asked again | 182 days |
| vite-ui-theme | Remembers light or dark mode (local storage) | Until you clear it |
| form0:locale | Remembers the language you chose so the site opens in it next time (local storage) | Until you clear it |
| form0_playground_session | Keeps you connected to your own playground session (playground.form0.dev only, strictly necessary) | 20 minutes |
Sharing and transfers
We do not sell your data. Umami processes consented analytics and hosts that data in the European Union. Context7 receives the technical request and chat data described above to provide the documentation chat. If you use the playground, Cloudflare receives the verification data and CodeSandbox the session data described above. Some pages link out to GitHub, npm and other sites, which apply their own privacy terms once you follow the link.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask what we hold about you, request a copy, ask for correction or deletion, object to processing, or withdraw consent. Because the analytics data is aggregated and cannot be traced back to an individual, we usually cannot identify those records. If your request concerns a chat message sent to Context7, include enough detail for us to assess what is possible.
You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.
Changes
If this notice changes in a way that affects you, we will update the date at the top of the page. Material changes to how analytics work will also reset the cookie banner so you can make a fresh choice.
